Felt like staying at your Nonna’s home !

Anna and her family are absolute gems. If you want to stay in a really nice place and have the feeling like you are staying with your nonna, look no further. She hosted a fantastic and fresh breakfast every single morning. All the food was fresh and she used veggies from her own garden. Her apartments are spotless and modern. You will have any amenity you could need. Anna spoke to us warmly and even taught me some more italian. She was very caring and even provided us more linens to line our stroller for our baby.
The location is beautiful, the view is breathtaking as well as being very central to the town center along with a short 5 minute walk to the bus and train station. Which makes it a wonderful place to stay if you are seeking to travel up and down the coast.
We plan to be back and will definitely be staying with Anna at Cubo apartments again! 10/10 <3

A great location and apartment holiday on the Bay of Naples

Cubo apartments are run by a family led by Signora Anna, who provides food from her own garden for breakfast each day. The apartments are spacious, clean and comfortable. They are located on a main road so there is some traffic noise but are central for the access road to the beach and nearby railway station, connecting to Sorrento, Naples and Pompeii. There’s a good choice of restaurants close by.
Our hosts were exceptional, rearranging the rooftop terrace with its view of the Bay of Naples so that sun beds were provided.
We enjoyed the location in the town of Vico Equense and especially the warm welcome provided by Anna, Federico and Angela.
Thank you for a great holiday.

Vico isn't a great place to be based out off, but if you end up in Vico, these are nice apartments

My wife, 5-year old daughter, and I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2024 and found it to be a reasonably good accommodation, even if we did seriously question our decision to stay in Vico as opposed to Sorrento. As it so happens, on each of the three full days we were in the area, we had activities starting in Sorrento – whether it be a farm tour in Massa Lubrense or a bus tour of the Amalfi Coast – and we found the train system connecting Vico and Sorrento to be unreliable. We even ran into a train strike on the second day of our stay in the area and were caught by surprise because there were no announcements at the train station. Therefore, Vico proved to be a rather inconvenient location to be based out of during our 4-day trip to the area.
In any event, coming back to Cubo Apartments itself, I like some of the aspects of the accommodation that have been noted by other reviewers. The rooms are quite modern and the views from the room, and particularly the terrace, are great. The breakfast – that’s made by the mother of the family who runs the place – is nice, although in all fairness, I do wish there were more hot-food options, like sausages or waffles or pancakes. The one hot-food option that exists is a freshly made omelet and on the one morning that I had, I quite liked it. There are also several freshly baked goods that are very nice. I appreciate the fact that on the day we were leaving the hotel by 8:15 a.m. – and it was too early to have breakfast – we could bring a few items with us like apple juice and croissants for the day.
In terms of the location of the place, as I have already noted, Vico may not be the best place to explore the Amalfi Coast or the Sorrentine Peninsula because most excursions start in Sorrento. However, conditional on deciding to base yourselves in Vico, these apartments are nicely located. The train station is only 5 minutes away and there are several good restaurants located within spitting distance of the apartments, including Terramia Ristorante and Terrazza Glicine, where we dined during our stay.
The two things that make me take off a star is the smell of sewage in the main bathroom, which was just awful. It has been many years since I have stayed in an accommodation that had such a smell. It was strong enough that my wife avoided using the bathroom as much as possible. (Btw, this is the “Asia Superior” room if I am not mistaken.) My bathroom, on the other hand, on the second level of the apartment was free of this issue and I had no problems using it. This issue of sewage smell ought to be fixed, even if it takes significant expense to do so. The other issue – and this is more minor – is the lack of lights in the laundry area. While we did not realize the lack of lights when we started our laundry load at around 5 p.m., by the time it was all done, at 10 p.m. (yes, the dryer took forever), we had to use the flashlights on our smartphone to look around. That’s an inconvenience. It should be an easy fix to put lights in the laundry area.
All in all, I would advise people against staying in Vico, if they can help it. However, if they decide to stay in Vico, they can surely consider staying here. I would.

Cubo Apartments are located in a small palazzo in the center of Vico Equense, the pretty little town at the start of the Sorrentine Peninsula.
From the terraces of the apartments, a sweeping view of Castello Giusso, the Scoglio dei Tre Fratelli, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius can be seen.
Quietly elegant, Vico Equense is one of the Sorrentine Peninsula's most exclusive bathing resorts and the perfect base from which to explore the historic seaside town of Sorrento, the archeological sites of Pompei and Herculaneum, and the innumerable treasures of the nearby Amalfi Coast.
