Giardino Archeologico is a nice B&B in an excellent location

Our family of 5 stayed at Giardino Archeologico for 6 nights. We arrived from Naples via train (blue line) and walked to the B&B with our luggage. We found Sorrento to be very walkable and this B&B was a good home base — near good restaurants, shops, Carrefour, elevator to the beach clubs… The B&B consists of 5 rooms and a breakfast area on the ground floor of an apartment building plus outdoor space all surrounded by secure fencing. Apparently there are ruins on-site, but nobody mentioned that to us so we didn’t see them. We stayed in the rooms called Domus Sabinii (has a double and a twin bed) and Pompeii (double bed). The rooms were good size and we were able to organize our things on the sturdy large built-in shelves and the desk. Bedside tables were too small to fit things we wanted bedside. We did not like that the light switches on left side of the double bed in Domus Sabinii turned on all the lights so you couldn’t just turn on the bedside light. The bathroom has a good sized surface. The shower could be too small for some. The room was cleaned daily and provided enough clean towels. The daily breakfast was the same each day, but it was tasty. I usually had a cappuccino and croissant with Nutella. The location is not always staffed, but someone is reachable via Whats App and he responded quickly (and in English). We were given a code to open the gate and keys for the outside door and room door. We booked the Amalfi Coast boat tour through the hotel. It was a nice tour, but we think a booking fee of 25 euros per ticket on top of the 119 euro tour cost is excessive/gouging. We would stay there again, but would book all tours directly.

Clean rooms & friendly staff

This is a converted ground floor of small flats into B&B rooms. We knew what we were booking before hand as we just wanted a base to explore from so we weren't expecting 4 star. Monica (in charge) was very friendly & helpful and gave us loads of tips for our stay in Sorrento. The room we stayed in was super-clean & well equipped but didn't have a kettle, which was a shame so we drank vino instead...(but not for breakfast!). After we dumped the bags we walked across the road to Sorrento Spritz (which will have it's own review as it was brilliant!) I hope they are still there for you guys as the food and service are simply amazing, considering it looks like a larger than normal cafe in EasyJet orange. Our only gripe with Green House was the door thickness to the apartment; as at night when the metal main door into the complex is closed it's really loud and anyone in the corridor outside having a chat after midnight can be heard as though they are standing next to you (as the doors were so thin). Apart from that, it's proximity to the train station (10 min walk), Port (20 min walk), mini-mart (2 min walk) & the main town (3 min walk) is brilliant. We just used it as a place to sleep and so should you. The breakfast buffet was continental so you won't get a fry-up i'm afraid. Great value for the money. Oh yes, every hotel or B&B will charge you €41 tourist tax at the end of your stay (per week I think)...

Comfortable room

We have a fluro orange room, which was definitely an experience, but it was quite cute after the initial shock. We didn't have a simcard and had a very hard time getting into the place (it's in an apartment building). Breakfast was good! My only issue was the wifi, which was dreadful. As mentioned, we didn't have a sim so stayed somewhere with wifi to use for navigating, which we weren't able to do. The lady at reception was very helpful with showing us how to get to the bus but do feel we missed some good restaurants because we couldn't look anything up.

A friendly place to stay in Sorrento

My wife found this place and I have to admit I was sceptical about staying there but it’s a friendly, cheaper than the norm and handily situated in Sorrento. The rooms are a two minute walk to the Corso Italia and about 8-10 minutes from the railway station and bus tours. The port is about a 10 minute walk but downhill all the way. Everything that you could want or need is not too far from this location. The room itself is a typical hotel room layout with part of a terrace to call your own. My wife and I chilled outside every night with little or no disruption from those staying next to us. The staff are very friendly and very helpful plus they offer suggestions on where to go for the best meals. If you don’t want to pay over the odds then this is the place to stay.
