A Pool in the Center

Not all historic hotels in the center of Sorrento have a pool and sundeck! The pool at Palazzo Guardati is on the hotel rooftop and overlooks the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The rooftop terrace is open each day from 8 am to 10 pm, and is where guests gather to relax on the sun loungers under comfortable umbrellas with a snack or cool drink from the poolside bar.

Great location but wouldn’t stay again/recommend

The best thing going for it is the fab location in the centre of Sorrento. The rest was rather disappointing. It’s surprising it’s a 4* hotel. We didn’t bother with the breakfast most days as it was so bad. Not at all appropriate for anyone with intolerances/dietary requirements. The breakfast member of staff was regularly grumpy and rude to the customers. There were a few days the shower gel wasn’t topped up although the hotel advertises toiletries so we were left short a couple of days unfortunately. By the time you realise, it’s too late to ask staff. The doors are ridiculously noisy. They slam shut and don’t actually shut properly. The people staying in rooms next to us had to slam 3-5 times each time they left the room to ensure it locked. This woke us up multiple times each morning. The walls are also thin. I could hear the room next door blow their nose, walk down the corridor and talking. We left our 1 week holiday which was supposed to be relaxing, absolutely knackered and desperate to catch up on sleep/get a decent night sleep. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend the hotel

Elena and Viviano were very friendly and helpful The hotel itself was very difficult to find. We were dropped off a 1/4 mile from the hotel, and had to drag our luggage up cobblestone streets We found the hotel finally, but there was no doorway to get in! We had to ask numerous people how to get to the entrance, which was in the alley, up the stairs to the back of the building. Hard to find. They had a one person elevator, not even big enough for 3 pieces of luggage! Our room was on the third floor. The elevator stopped at the second floor floor, and we had to drag our luggage up the steps Not convenient for the handicapped, or tired tourists

The hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of the city centre! Very close to harbour, beach, train station and restaurants! Location Location Location! We stayed in a classic double spacious bed was large bathroom was very nice and very clean! Rooftop terrace is perfect to relax after day trips, view from top is amazing! However the pool is much smaller than it looks in the pictures! Breakfast waw nice with a reasonable selection of foods both sweet and savoury. One small issue we did receive shower gels and shampoo on 1st day but none after that. No main bar in the hotel there is one at the pool. Overall I would highly recommend this place for a Sorrento stay.

Centrally located, superb accommodation -- and a rooftop pool with views of the sea and Mt. Vesuvius!

We thoroughly enjoyed our six nights here. The hotel is practically at ground zero of Sorrento, just half a block from the main square. Our room was large with high ceilings and a very long and deep soaking bathtub, which was great for all the walking and ferry-riding we did. The kicker is the rooftop pool, small but extremely welcome on hot summer days. They serve drinks up there, too, and you can kick back on the lounge chairs and take in the view of the Bay of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius and the city of Naples in the distance. Only one criticism: Our bed was actually two twins side-by-side, and it didn't take much for them to drift apart and create a crevasse between the two mattresses. Hope they replace it with a king or queen bed!

Palazzo Guardati is right in the historic center of Sorrento, Italy along one of the pretty lanes surrounding Piazza Tasso...a perfect locations for exploring all of Sorrento's hidden corners, shops, and excellent restaurants. The hotel can be reached in just a few minutes from Sorrento's Circumvesuviana train station by foot, and offers a transfer service to and from Naples' airport and train station for an extra charge. For those arriving by car, there is a public parking lot a few minutes from the hotel.
