Getting to Sorrento directly from Ischia is only possible during high season, from April 1st to October 31st, when there are direct hydrofoil runs. During the winter, you’ll have go to Naples first, and then take a hydrofoil or a train to Sorrento.

The trip offers spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrento Peninsula.

Ischia - Sorrento timetables

From April to October there are two direct trips daily, one around 10:30 am and the other around 5:30 pm.

The crossing lasts about an hour and includes a stopover in Procida. The vessels used for the crossings are fast and powerful hydrofoils. The hydrofoil company that runs on this route is Alilauro Grouson.

  • By elevator: Available from the Villa Comunale to the port at a cost of 1 euro.

  • Bus: Local line that connects the port with the Circumvesuviana station.
