From April to October there are two direct trips daily, one around 10:30 am and the other around 5:30 pm.

The crossing lasts about an hour and includes a stopover in Procida. The vessels used for the crossings are fast and powerful hydrofoils. The hydrofoil company that runs on this route is Alilauro Grouson.

• Ischia: Departures from the ports of Ischia Porto, the main landing place on the island.

• Sorrento: Arrival at the port of Marina Piccola, near the city center.

The main port of Ischia offers the following services:

The Port of Marina Piccola is the main landing point in Sorrento and is located a few minutes from the city center. Here’s how to get to the center from the port:

• On foot: About 10 minutes from the centrally located Piazza Tasso (via a long staircase)

• By elevator: Available from the Villa Comunale to the port at a cost of 1 euro.

• Bus: Local line that connects the port with the Circumvesuviana station.

• Children: Reduced rates for children under 6; ages 0 to 4 travel free, while those up to 14 pay half price.

• Pets: Allowed with a leash and muzzle or carrier; a supplement may be required.

Many ferries and hydrofoils are equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility. We recommend you check with the ferry or hydrofoil company before departure.

• Book tickets in advance. There are limited runs, and therefore limited availability.

• Show up at the port at least 30 minutes before departure.

• Check the weather conditions: rough seas could lead to the cancellation of hydrofoils.

If you’re staying on Ischia, you can take a day trip to Sorrento with the hydrofoil. Depending on the timetable, you’ll have time to take a walk around the historic center, have lunch in a traditional restaurant, and do a bit of shopping before returning.

The hydrofoil is also the perfect option if you’ve decided to divide your stay between Ischia and Sorrento.
