Practical tips
Practical tips
Arrival at the port: In high season, we recommend you arrive at least 30-60 minutes before departure to allow sufficient time for boarding procedures and avoid possible delays if you encounter long lines.
Luggage: Your ticket includes one carry-on bag. For larger luggage you’ll be required to pay a small supplement.
Weather check: Hydrofoil services may be canceled in the event of bad weather, in which case you can take the Circumvesuviana train instead. You can contact the hydrofoil services’ call centers to get real-time information on any possible cancellations.
If you have time before departure, enjoy Molo Beverello pier, which offers splendid views of the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius, and has several snack bars where you can get a coffee or refreshments before departure.

If you arrive at Naples Capodichino airport: The best way to reach Sorrento from the Naples airport is to take the Curreri bus, which departs near the arrivals hall. If you want to travel to Sorrento by hydrofoil instead, you’ll need to get a bus or taxi to the Port of Naples Molo Beverello pier and then wait for the next hydrofoil.
If you arrive at Napoli Piazza Garibaldi train station, the most convenient way to get to Sorrento is by taking the Circumvesuviana train, which departs every 30 minutes from the lower level of the station. If you’re traveling with a lot of luggage we don’t recommend this option because there isn’t room to store your luggage on board. In that case it would be better for you to opt for a private transfer by car.
If you’re staying in a hotel in Naples, the hydrofoil is a good option. You can easily get to the Port of Naples with the underground (Metro) that arrives at Piazza Municipio from various points of the city.
The Port of Sorrento
All hydrofoils arrive at Marina Piccola, the Port of Sorrento. The port is located a short distance from the center, but to reach the centrally located Piazza Tasso from the port, you have to climb about a hundred steps. Alternatively there is an elevator, or you can take a bus or taxi up to the main square.
